How to play
Quick rules — 2-6 players, 30-60 minutes per game
Game overview
Everyone starts with 1 of 20 real Thai careers, each with a salary, debt, expenses and starting cash. There are 2 levels of goal:
- Escape Slave to Money — get Passive Income (income from assets) above total monthly expenses, then move up to the Freedom Path
- Win the game on the Freedom Path — score at least 80/100 in 3 of the 6 life dimensions (finance, family, health, impact, happiness, social)
How to start
- Enter your name → create a new room, or enter a Room ID to join an existing one
- The room owner can add NPCs (bots). Everyone presses Ready, then the owner presses Start Game
- Each player presses Find My Job to draw a career, looks over the income/expenses/assets/debt details, then presses Ready, and Go
- The system randomizes the player order and the first turn begins
The loop of each turn
- Press Roll to roll the dice (Slave to Money uses 1 die, the Freedom Path uses 2) and your piece moves by the roll
- The tile you land on always has an event — if it's a deal you choose Buy / Sell the rights / Pass
- The financial dashboard updates automatically and the system checks whether you've escaped Slave to Money or won the game
- Press End Turn to pass the turn to the next player
Numbers to watch
- Cash — used to buy deals and pay for events; if it runs out you are forced to take an emergency loan
- Passive Income — monthly income from assets, the "game winner"
- Total expenses — Passive Income has to overtake this
- Monthly surplus = total income − total expenses
- Stress (0-100) — the higher it is, the greater the risk of health problems and Burnout
Tiles on the Slave to Money board
The first board has 24 tiles, and every tile has an event. The common ones are:
- Opportunity — draw an investment opportunity card and choose to buy, sell the rights or pass
- Payday — receive the accumulated net surplus of 4 months
- Big News (Market) — a market card affects the assets of players who qualify
- Grow the Family — marriage / children, which add expenses and time to look after them
- Good Deeds (Charity) — donate in exchange for lower Stress and extra dice rights
- Side hustle / self-development / health check — raise income or skills in exchange for time and Stress
Starter tips
- Don't let your cash get too low — sudden payment events are frequent, and if you run out you'll be forced into an expensive emergency loan
- Choose deals that give high Passive Income relative to the money invested, rather than just looking at the cheapest price
- Keep Stress below 70 at all times; as it nears 100, find a rest tile or look after your health first
- Time each week is limited. Some side hustles and assets take a lot of time, so plan to fit what you have
No one is eliminated for failing
The game deliberately doesn't kick players out mid-game. Failure shows up as a burden and lost momentum instead — for example, cash runs out → emergency loan; Stress hits 100 → Burnout (pay money + skip 2 turns)
