Freedom Life Board Game (the "Website", "we") provides an online multiplayer financial-simulation board game. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Data we collect
- Game room data — the player name/avatar entered to play, the room code and the game state during play, stored temporarily on the server so the game works and not tied to a real identity
- Data on your device — your browser may store the Room ID, Player ID, Observer ID, sound settings and consent status in localStorage so you can conveniently return to a game
- Chat messages — messages in the lobby chat and in-game chat are used for communication between players in the room, and may be reviewed or removed when necessary for safety or to enforce the community rules
- Website usage data (Analytics) — we use Umami, a web analytics system that uses no cookies and collects no personally identifying data (such as pages visited, approximate country and device), to understand overall use of the website
- Cookies and ads — If the website enables ads through Google AdSense, third-party companies (including Google) may use cookies to show ads relevant to users. You can manage your personalized ad settings at adssettings.google.com and see how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Friends, profiles and messages
Members and visitors can see a member's name, profile picture, Rank, number of games finished, number of wins and win rate. Once both members have accepted each other as friends, the system shows the cumulative statistics and the 10 most recent games to that friend.
A friend request carries one introduction message. Private messages and requests are stored so conversations can continue, harassment can be reported and blocks can be enforced. The team doesn't read ordinary private messages unless a user submits a report with the relevant context.
Consent for advertising cookies
When you first visit the website you will see a notice about advertising cookies so you can choose "Accept" or "Decline". Before AdSense is actually turned on, we will connect this choice to the ad code in line with the requirements that apply to the user's region.
Users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If the website serves ads to users in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we will use a Consent Management Platform (CMP) certified by Google and supporting the IAB Europe TCF, as Google requires for personalized ads in those regions.
How we use data
The data above is used to make the game work correctly, prevent abnormal use, improve the user experience, look into problems that players report and (if enabled) show relevant ads. We do not sell user data to third parties.
Data retention
Game room data that is not in use is deleted from the system automatically after a set period of inactivity.
Data that should not be sent through the game or chat
Please do not send sensitive personal information such as national ID numbers, real addresses, bank account numbers, passwords, credit-card details or health information through player names, game rooms or chat. If we find such data, we may remove it for the safety of users.
